@ada like yeah sure MCP users usually do dumbshit but like I feel if service is rly focused on making their product secure (like password manager should), then they should not make dumbshit easier It's like an commercial operating system would go "hey so we saw that some of our users rly like to remove critical files, so we decided to make it easier and allow it by adding our new "break my shit" button! But warning, do not use it if u dont know what you are doing 🥰" and in the end, some tutorial would still say to use that button for less experienced users because in reality a lot of those don't read the docs. but by that point they can just go "hey... we warned you" and say its not their fault
@ada is unrestricted access to password vault better than explicit access to .env tho? If you require people to explicitly allow certain credentials which model can access, via .env or whatnot, it gives more opportunities for them to think what model might actually need, instead of just "oh you want to use pm to get credentials? sure just log in 🥰" I mean sure people will use those in a wrong way regardless, but I feel making it easier to misuse it is not the way to fix this
