If something I say sounds insane it's usually a shitpost, but if you wanna be sure u can ask (It will give me feedback to add notation so that I can be sure it's not misunderstood)
I can be weird and lewd here, I usually try to CW stuff correctly, mostly succeed but viewer discretion is advised, I am not strictly mDNI but I def would require not interacting with lewd posts, and I will block if I realize that this is happening. Also lewd stuff I post are usually jokes, I am in a monogamous relationship so do NOT try to unironically hit on me. Ironically is fine if I know you and its all for jokes.
Few statements that I believe so if u dont believe you might not like me and I might not like you: - Trans rights (I mean ALL trans rights. Transfem, masc, enby, anything else too, you are all valid) - Gay rights - Queer rights - MAPs aren't queers. Pedophilia is not a sexuality. - Privacy matters
Is it just me or is wayback machine like inaccesible for past few weeks? Front page works but whenever I try to check any URL it just says "429 too many requests" Both with and without VPN
Rich powerful people will blame The Woke on making mentall illness and in their portfolio they will have Attention Span Destroyer & Hate Everyone Machine 3000 which you can download right now for free
@halva Like other factor is that valve just doesn't push so hard, not a lot of ads are for that thing, meanwhile I see xbox ads everywhere lol Like, I just feel if Valve rly rly wanted to, they could try to fight against those big brands and maybe even partially succeed (ofc not in killing them, but getting large marketshare for sure)
@halva so this shrimpnet.gej.pet/notes/af1r1c1sm44qt95y The only reason Steam Machines is not console killer (I didn't say it is btw) is because it's not a known brand like Xbox or PS, so game studios don't gaf about making games work on it And despite that, that thing still has a lot of games working, and if they actually treated SteamOS (so just linux in general) like an actual platform and not gatekeep it, a lot more of those would work. So while yeah I agree it's not gonna end consoles, but what I meant was that, it's never been easier to attempt this for something of a scale like Valve.
So yeah not yet, but at some point who knows? (and about price, steam deck was relatively cheap for what it were (I think, maybe I just got lucky buying it third hand), Valve could def at some point attempt something in price range of consoles with similar specs, and Steam Machine price (afaik) is not yet know either (or maybe it is, but doesn't rly affect rest of my point))
@halva Like at this point I feel consoles are hanging by a thread of "we are usually cheaper than pre-build PC with similar capabilities... and ig fortnite"
@halva For long ass time consoles had one advantage: exclusives Basically blackmailing of "if u dont buy our console u can't play that" but now that exclusives are barelly a thing (except nintendo) I believe Valve could take them Not yet, steam machine probably won't be the xbox/ps killer But like It's basically be like a console that has more games already working on it And if game makers would stop the anti-cheat bullshit, that could work
@lily Yeah maybe not Lapdesk that's dumb And yeah true panel def fits their existing names, but yeah more for tablet Tho tbh I believe they would make such a reference, but maybe if it actually fit better lol
But damn I just thought of something, like they made the game Desk Job then maybe they would name is Steam lapdesk and it would be a reference and allat idk
@maddy It's not yet implemented thing (except early access) So for now its still allowed to just install apps regular way But google announced requirement for all apps to be signed even when installing outside the playstore and now they are easing off those planned requirements
