In the "self improvement" cult (not saying all SI is a cult, but that specific part of it) there is both thinking of "you should live your current life to the fullest" and "skip stuff rn so that you can be healthy in your 80s" and like
That second part is literally the opposite of the first one, this is literally just double think lmao
Taking care of your health is important but you should also have fun rn y'know, maybe don't take every single drug on earth at once while driking for a week straight and licking a random wall for fun, but also don't try hard yourself rn just so that you might get additional 1 day of life later
Moderation is key, including not sacrificing your mental health for VERY distant POTENTIAL gains
